Jamie Cohen, MA
Therapist
she/her/hers
Jamie earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Lesley University. She considers herself a career-changer with a little over a decade of previous experiences in startup, agency, corporate and nonprofit work environments, so she understands many of the stressors that come with balancing personal and professional expectations and identities.

Jamie takes a collaborative approach to counseling and will start any new therapeutic relationship by talking with her clients about what they are hoping to get out of therapy. She is trauma-informed in her approach, with prior experience taking calls on the national suicide prevention line, as well as working in a residential setting with veterans experiencing substance use disorder(s) and/or post-traumatic stress. She likes to draw on interventions from cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and narrative therapy while takeing a strengths-based approach for each person with whom she works.

Jamie’s primary interests include working with folks on grief, loss, life transitions (graduation, retirement, cross-country moves, changing jobs, etc.), substance use, anxiety and interpersonal relationships. She also enjoys working with those who have visible and/or invisible disabilities.

Jamie is working toward independent licensure as a mental health professional. During that time, she is operating under the license of her clinical supervisor.
