Alma Pietri, LMHC

Therapist

she/her/hers

Alma has been working in the mental health field for over 9 years and graduated from Boston University's Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program. She aims to support people in getting to know and appreciate all parts of themselves, showing up authentically in relationships and move towards living their life in alignment with their values and goals.

Alma practices from a psychodynamic approach, which means building a greater awareness of the patterns we all fall into in relationships with others and yourself. She also integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) interventions into treatment. Alma is mindful of the role of attachment and believes the relationship we form within therapy can be the most healing intervention of all.

Alma has extensive experience working with people with trauma histories, challenging family dynamics, anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms, dissociation, substance use disorders and emotion dysregulation. She is also passionate about providing support to individuals in the perinatal period and supporting parents in navigating the beauty and challenge of parenthood. Alma appreciates the courage it takes to engage in therapy and holds this vulnerability with deep respect.
