Alex Beaton, MA

Therapist

he/him/his

Alex earned his master’s degree in mental health counseling from Lesley University and has deep experience working in a college counseling setting. Alex’s clinical practice is based in a person-centered approach and leverages psychodynamic, family systems and narrative modalities. His clinical interests include depression, anxiety, intergenerational trauma, navigating major life transitions and the mind-body connection.

Alex believes in the healing nature of the relationship between the therapist and client and its unique ability to provide a space of learning and healing. Alex views therapy as a continued conversation that should be unique to each client’s experience and should honor the strengths and struggles that shape their identity.

Alex enjoys working with LGBTQ+ clients and has experience working with gender identity concerns as well. As a lifelong musician, Alex identifies with the challenges and rewards of pursuing creativity in one’s life as well as the community it can offer. He strives to create this feeling of support and community in his own practice and invites his clients to join him wherever they may be in their healing journey.

Alex is working toward independent licensure as a mental health professional. During that time, he is operating under the license of his clinical supervisor.
